Yonder Mountain String Band and Railroad Earth at Sumter Amphitheater

People looked slightly apprehensive as they drove toward the ominous storm clouds hovering near Sumtur Amphitheater in Papillion last Thursday night, but the chance of thunderstorms didn’t end up deterring many.

The show was pushed back half an hour, but just as Yonder Mountain String Band (a bluegrass band out of Colorado) took the stage, the storm clouds lightened up and passed with only a light sprinkle. Before too long the sun popped out and Mother Nature produced a double rain bow. Railroad Earth, from New Jersey, during the second half of the billing, was accompanied by a beautiful sunset.

Together, both bands spun through their individual takes on bluegrass — their brand of “newgrass” or “jamgrass”.

The encore caught most people by surprise, as it was performed by “Yonder Mountain Railroad,” a collaboration of all members of both bands. See photos below.
