Perfectly positioned in a somewhat linear format, Omaha's Conduits banded together on the Slowdown surface beneath the stage to perform their song, "The Wonder." It awakened the club from a "recovery" Monday evening after a long weekend of concerts and events.
During pre-shoot preparations, band members tuned their instruments while running back and forth for breaks outside and pit stops at the bar.
Behind the cameras, the Love Drunk crew were meticulously mapping out the route in which each camera would journey and what it would capture along the way.
This was Love Drunk's 69th live, one-take music video session.
Guitarist J.J. Idt, who occasionally does sound for Slowdown events, was behind the mixing board, programming the appropriate lighting that would accommodate the band. A few patrons trickled in the east end of the venue, camera phones locked and loaded along the railing, waiting to record their own take.
As the lights went down and the intro began to creep its way into a full combustion, lead singer Jenna Morrison's voice gradually rose while a spotlight slowly beamed in her direction. For that moment, the Slowdown became the Conduits' sanctuary.
Be sure to catch Conduits this Friday at the Waiting Room Lounge as they celebrate the release of their self-titled debut album alongside Gus & Call and Sun Settings. More info on the show here.
