“Rusty Years” by Baby Tears | Album Stream

'Tis the season for Omaha's spazzed-out punk band Baby Tears. Through tumultuous, spine-shattering efforts, Baby Tears' Jef Shadoan, Ethan Jones and Todd Von Stup have barreled through the scuzzy sound barriers to produce a bountiful amount of raw, new material into which even the gnarliest, crusty slab skins can drunkenly ding. Their forthcoming full-length LP Rusty Years will be released in early 2012 on Doom Town Records.

But you don't have to wait until 2012 to get your mitts on Rusty Years, you can stream it for free below.

The chaotic whaling of Von Stup's vocals and pummel-driving, pulsating thunder deriving from Shadoan's drumming places Rusty Years in prime position for most sincere punk rock LP of the new year. Nothing on the album is sugarcoated and there are no guarantees of false promises. For Baby Tears, "life's been a thriller livin' in a rut."

Prior to releasing Rusty Years, Baby Tears will be debuting their heavily anticipated Homeless Corpse 7-inch at this Friday's release show at O'Leaver's alongside The Fucking Party before they embark on a mini tour of the Midwest. Homeless  was released on Kevin Cline's Rainy Road Records and recorded at Chateau VonStup. (Read HN's feature on Homeless Corpse.)

Once the tour kicks off, be sure to tune back in for frequent updates on both The Fucking Party and Baby Tears, as they will be sharing their deepest, darkest secrets of the road via tour diaries.

Steven is a Hear Nebraska editorial intern. He suggests that you invite your best homeless corpse to this show as your date. It will be like booty shakin' on a graveyard. You can email him at stevena@hearnebraska.org.
