Moon Hooch and The Jazzocracy at Vega | Photo Essay

It’s not every day that you experience a band like Moon Hooch.

The Brooklyn trio combines woodwinds and electronic dance music, and when they stepped to the stage on Friday, the atmosphere of Vega went from calm to outrageous in a matter of seconds.

Moon Hooch features Wenzl McGowen and Mike Wilbur out front on saxophones and James Muschler on the drums. The band’s self-titled album came out a couple years ago, but Moon Hooch, more than a band you need to listen to, is an a band you need to see.

The Jazzocracy

The Jazzocracy, arguably Lincoln’s foremost jazz ensemble, opened Friday night’s show to an attentive, seated crowd. You can catch them every Tuesday evening at Zoo Bar.
