Just past the halfway point of 2015, Freakabout has already had a banner year.

If there are boxes to be checked for a local band, the hard rocking quartet of frontwoman Cortney Kirby, guitarist Aaron Galvan, bassist Alex Drvol and drummer Zach Zoellner have certainly done so. Full-length LP Don’t We All dropped in March. Two singles (“Never Have I Ever” and “Use You”) and accompanying music videos. Extensive regional touring, and more to come this September.

We visited the Lincoln-based quartet at rehearsal last Sunday afternoon to discuss their accomplishments to date, gelling personally and as a band and the prospect of playing tomorrow’s Maha Music Festival — where they’ll appear in the 12:40 time slot on the Javlin Stage.
