The Bourbon Theatre presents…
::: The Talbott Brothers :::
Hi guys, thanks for taking the time to check out our music. We’ve spent a lot of time on it, so it means a lot that you’d take a break from Facebook to be here. I’ve checked Facebook twice since I started writing this bio.
My name’s Tyler and I sing and co-write the songs for the Talbott Brothers. I have the great pleasure of speaking for the band at the microphone while we perform. But, at a show, I don’t always have the time to give you our story. Gather ‘round the campfire. It goes like this:
Nick (my brother, our lead guitarist, and co-songwriter) and I officially started the band 3 years ago. At that time, we got to share our music in coffee shops, retirement home luncheons and with our friends around contained fires in well-hydrated climates.
Since then, we’ve had a few more people take an interest in this music we’ve been making. The crazy thing about a job, not only in music, is that as you find your voice and your strengths, others get to be a part of that growth, too. We hope to keep both sides of that going.
Nick and I toured as an acoustic duo to the East coast in the dead of winter- something we don’t exactly advise, but we think we’re in a better place because of it; not only with our music but also with our hearts. After that acoustic tour we made an acoustic record with Tone Tree Audio, LLC- songs that we had written in that month on the road and in the aftermath of losing a backing band. The tone of the acoustic record is a little more solemn, but still, we had a joy we die to sing about. We hope that comes through if you get a chance to listen to it.
In the Spring of 2014 we self-recorded the “Coming Home EP.” It signifies our returning to our rock and roll roots with a full-band sound; 4 songs from The Road that we revamped and released on our website as a free download.
Nick and I are currently writing our new record, to be released some time in 2015. This is the slowest and most diligently we have worked on a record- holding ourselves to a standard that we set some time ago. When the record is finished, we hope you take some time to listen to it and let us share it with you. We’re grateful for the friends and listeners we have surrounding us in our journey so far. Here’s to new relationships, old ones, and a continuation of music that we hope we can sing together, dance to, and feel in our souls.
