[Editor's note: A Conversation is a HN series that features two disparate members Nebraska's music scene interviewing each other about what they do best. This is part two. Read the first part, featuring Rick Alloway on radio, here. We hope you learn a little.]
Spencer Munson had a bit of a disadvantage. He was matched up with a skilled interviewer — with some 25 years and change of experience — at the Coffee House in Lincoln on July 20. Munson showed a bit of nervousness, but within just a few minutes, the jack of all electronic music trades began to connect with the interviewer, another member of the Nebraska music scene.
It was exactly what this series had set out to do: pair two disparate figures of the creative class, and in the process, help both get more familiar and comfortable with the other's corner of the scene. In this case, the interviewer was Rick Alloway, who in turn answered questions about his expertise with radio.
Listen in as Munson answers Alloway's questions that range from electronic dance music's part in international relations to Munson's collective of EDM friends called Grindhouse:
Michael Todd is Hear Nebraska's managing editor. He once tried to tear apart his Playstation and put it back together. In doing so, he made some shockingly angry electronic music. Reach him at michaeltodd@hearnebraska.org.
