People traveled near and far to Pinewood Bowl on Tuesday night (as far as Alabama and Nevada) to enjoy the eclectic musical journey that Widespread Panic creates show after show.

Opening the show, Galactic got the crowd pumped up with their funk and jazz inspired music. The band is a five-piece group out of New Orleans that also has a lot of hip-hop, rock and blues influences. Guest vocalist Maggie Koerner, was nothing short of spectacular with her blues and soul influenced singing.

Widespread Panic played for two hours and the dancing never stopped. Great lights and visuals made the concert experience complete. There was a collaboration towards the end of their set with some of the members of Galactic in which they played “House of the Rising Sun,” a song Widespread Panic hasn’t covered in more than a decade.

For many Nebraskan Widespread Panic fans, Tuesday night was the start of an exciting week followed by a show in Kansas City and a three-night run at Red Rocks.
