If you’re reading this, you’re at least vaguely familiar with Hear Nebraska. And, if asked, you’d probably agree that you generally support making your community a better place to be.
You also know that one way to make your community better is by donating to a good cause through Give to Lincoln Day. But when you donate, you want to see results. Maybe you want to give some cash to Hear Nebraska, but it’s a little harder to answer the question, “What’s in it for me?”
Listen, we’re not saying you’re selfish; we just know it’s important to you that you get your bang for your buck. You want to know that we’re not spending your hard-earned money on wigs, drugs or drugged-out earwigs. “What good comes out of giving to Hear Nebraska?” you might be asking yourself, your hands hesitantly yet sensually reaching for your debit card.
The answer: Hear Nebraska spreads the gospel of Nebraska.
We’re gathering all the proof that we’re awesome, and we’re flying all over the world. We’re going door-to-door, and we’re knocking until someone answers. Then, when they do answer, we’re shaking their hand and saying to them, in the kind yet firm way that only Nebraskans can do:
"Hey! We're Nebraska, and we’re not fucking around.”
At some point, you’ve probably told a friend or family member from out of state that Nebraska slays, and they probably laughed, like you were being silly. Then, you tried to explain to them all the reasons Nebraska is awesome (“It’s not just corn and football; there really is a ton of rad shit happening!”), and they still didn’t get it. Well, Hear Nebraska is here to help prove your point.
If you think Nebraska is underrated, and you think the world should know that we’re a cultural destination, you should give to Hear Nebraska.
If you supported the arena because you felt it would bring more legitimacy to our state, you should give to Hear Nebraska.
If you root for the Huskers because they show the whole world what our community is capable of, you should give to Hear Nebraska.
If you hate everything about Husker football (except for Alex Henery, who genuinely seems like a great guy and a real team player) and you think our arts scene deserves more credit, you should give to Hear Nebraska.
Help us prove to the world that Nebraska isn’t fucking around. Give to Hear Nebraska.
