In Love Drunk’s 123rd installment, Both, an Omaha hip-hop outfit comprising Scky Rei and INFNTLP, take to Carver Bank at the intersection of 24th and Lake streets in north Omaha to perform their song “Uhmmmmm.”

Both brings the full band, drummer, bassist, back-up vocalists, for the jazz-reliant track where Scky Rei leads the ensemble through mellow rhymes and minimalist instrumentals.

Carver Bank, formerly the first African American-owned bank in Omaha, now operates as a residency program for artists in collaboration with the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts and the Rebuild Foundation. Current residents, whose selection emphasizes artists of color whose work engages with “issues of race and ethnicity,” include Derek Higgins, Porta Vivienne Love, Shannon Marie and Bart Vargas.

According to JoAnna LeFlore, Interim Program Coordinator for the Bemis Center, shooting Both at Carver Bank perpetuates the location’s purpose to provide a collaborative artistic space in an effort to promote the revitalization of the community’s artistic spirit.
