Travis Egnor is new to Omaha. He has been hustling to establish himself in the music scene, pulling a band together in a couple short weeks and teaching the material from his album recorded in Nashville.

He will play Barley Street Tavern on Saturday at 9 p.m. as Dead Leaves. And just like that, he will then leave town on his way to another couple months in a different city. He's the husband of a traveling nurse, but it was their idea together to embark on an extended-stay tour.

Omaha is their first stop, and he says things have fallen into place well before he picks them up again. The people are kind, the music is fresh, and although the weather's turned cold a few times, the change of scenery has influenced the subject matter of songs he's working on.
