[Editor's note: I screwed up and didn't get this column posted in its regular Thursday slot. We hope you still made it to The Good Foot and Gus & Call's CD release.]

Looking to see some lady music?
THURSDAY, DEC. 1 *The Good Foot with Sons of 76
The Good Foot is a soul band from Kansas City. Like Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, the group comprises a backing band, complete with a horn section, fronted by a petite woman with a gargantuan voice. Tight, brassy and bold. Bring your dancing shoes. The Zoo Bar, 136 N. 14th St. in Lincoln 9 p.m. 21+
Gus & Call CD release show with InDreama and Honeybee & Hers
Gus & Call, a sort of reinvented Bear Country, is pretty great. I haven’t heard InDreama, but I’ve heard good things. But as for Omaha group Honeybee & Hers – well, I’m fair enthralled with Honeybee & Hers. They alone make a show worth it, but with a lineup like this, it’s a must-see. The Slowdown, 729 N. 14th St. in Omaha 9 p.m. $5
SATURDAY, DEC. 3 Hear Nebraska compilation release show, w/ Digital Leather, The Wagon Blasters, Domestica, Masses and Dim Light
HN + Doe-Eyed + Screen Ink + 12 fabulous local bands (or bands with local ties) = brilliance. The show might only feature one band with a woman musician (the legendary Heidi Ore), but the compilation features songs from Thunder Power, Conduits, the Betties, Big Harp and Domestica. Can’t wait to get my hands on this comp. The Sydney, in Omaha 10 p.m. $5, 21+ (comp is $15)
Hilary Stohs-Krause can't wait for Husker season to be over so she can have her Saturdays back. She gets her local music fix through HN and as a cocktail waitress at Duffy's Tavern.
