We gave photographer Nickolai Hammar an odd-ish job on Saturday at Maha Music Festival.
“Hang out backstage. And as politely and casually as you can, ask the sweaty, over-photographed musicians coming off the stage if you can photograph them one final time.”
As it turned out, everyone was in good spirits and obliged the project really nicely. Only Death Cab For Cutie wasn’t available, as Nickolai told me later they quite literally jogged onto the stage and then jogged away. Fitting for the intensity of their performance (more on that here.)
Otherwise, cars, stacks of gear and drainage ditches comprise the Aksarben Village backdrop to a lot of musicians who appeared very happy to be there.
