A historically rainy late spring couldn’t curb the tide of “junkers” that set upon Omaha’s Junkstock last month.
Vendors and visitors from Nebraska, the Midwest and as far as half-a-country away came for fourth annual festivities at the West Omaha dairy farm. With the mission to build a community-oriented, family-friendly event around rescued and repurposed items of all shapes and sizes — from trinkets to furniture — Junkstock has come to represent a flea market with a gathering reputation and a come-as-you-are vibe for families and collectors.
In June, Junkstock also offered three days of bands, a who’s-who of Eastern Nebraska roots acts: McCarthy Trenching, All Young Girls Are Machine Guns, Kris Lager Band, The Bottle Tops, Brad Hoshaw and many more.
