The 2015 Good Living Tour proved what we already knew — there’s a hunger for original Nebraska art statewide. Through its associated storytelling project, it also served as an incredible opportunity for Hear Nebraska to build connections and discover arts talent and passion throughout the good life.
By the numbers: 9 cities. 9 free, all-ages concerts. 28 bands. 1 DJ. 18 feature stories. 2,600 miles. 2,200 crowd members. 1 Nebraska.
Through community and statewide sponsors, we’re proud to have invested more than $35,000 to Nebraska artists — from musicians to designers to engineers to journalists. From a community standpoint, if the tour inspired one young person to pick up an instrument, book a show or create something original in his or her town, it was a success.
The project would not have been possible without our sponsors: Nebraska Arts Council, Nebraska Cultural Endowment, The Center for Rural Affairs, Humanities Nebraska, Pinnacle Bank, Maha Music Festival, Vessel Live, Omaha World-Herald and Gorges Volvo (for our sweet wheels). Thanks to all the communities who invested in the project, and to everyone who attended a concert, shared a story or hung a flier.
We plan to make the 2016 Good Living Tour bigger and better. More on that soon. For now, suggest a tour stop.
