Portland four-piece Archeology's percussive, chanting melodies about a Native American religious movement seemed a perfect fit for an old dried-up creek bed in former Indian territory. There's a different kind of spirit now, near the roundabout that connects Omaha's Saddle Creek Road and Happy Hollow Blvd and serves as a transportation conduit between neighborhoods. Horses became SUVs and grassland became manicured parks.
Confusing motorists and fascinating nearby children, Archeology performed "Ghost Dance" for the HN Live crew Oct. 10, 2011. The song appears on an EP the indie band self-produced for their recent tour. See what happened below.
