Falling In Reverse is a band created out of controversy.
In 2006, frontman Ronnie Radke was sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison for his role in the shooting of a Nevada man. While in prison, Radke’s former band, Escape The Fate, found a new singer to replace him.
After Radke’s release, he launched Las Vegas-based hardcore band Falling In Reverse, giving him another chance in the music industry. As its success grew, it was evident that Falling In Reverse had embraced their past and moved on.
On that note, Falling In Reverse made an interesting decision at The Bourbon last night: Instead of performing a traditional setlist, they divided their time slot into two distinct performances. The first half was dedicated to Radke’s time in Escape The Fate. They played the songs from its 2006 debut, Dying Is Your Latest Fashion.
Falling In Reverse’s second setlist was all about its latest album, Just Like You, performing the songs its fans were expecting to hear, and doing so with blistering guitars and punishing rhythms.
After Des Moines’ Switchblade Saturdays and Los Angeles’ Ghost Town opened, Falling In Reverse’s sold-out performance sent a message: In spite of Radke’s turbulent past, the fans were undeterred.
