Last night, Omaha dance-punk outfit, The Faint, closed out their two-night homestead at The Waiting Room Lounge in Omaha.
Feel Tight, draped in hooded robes, began the night with gut-punching bass tones and mud-reddened doom, reminiscent of drone-gods Sunn O))) if Sunn O))) played exclusively Black Sabbath covers.
Iowa’s Ramona and The Slim Dudes followed. With only drums, bass, and vocals, the band put forth an accurately sensual display of minimalistic instrumentation and dance moves, lyrically touching on “people who are mean” and “wearing tiny clothes in front of large groups of people.”
The Faint struck their hometown audience with a performance plastered in fog, strobe lights and high BPM’s. The night quickly progressed into a neighborly gathering of friendly pushing and shoving; fist bumping and sweating.
Both Sunday and Monday’s shows sold out, as expected.
