At Sunday’s annual Omaha Entertainment and Arts Awards (OEAAs), men in suits and women in heels mixed with decked-out rockers and fans dressed in colorful costumes.
The awards ceremony recognized the Omaha arts community. It was an excellent night for local music with performances by Voodoo Method, Bloodcow, All Young Girls Are Machine Guns and Icky Blossoms. The night called for a unique look at the music scene in Nebraska.
Bloodcow, who won the award for best hard rock, paired with best singer-songwriter award winner, All Young Girls Are Machine Guns, for a one-of-a-kind performance (at least until they pair up again, if they do). Icky Blossoms, who won both the awards for album of the year and artist of the year, closed out the awards show by performing two songs amid performers dressed in costumes on stage with them.
Other award-winners in the music category included Bassthoven, Cursive, Galvanized Tron, Kris Lager Band, Steve Raybine, Satchel Grande, The Bishops, Secret Weapon, The 9’s, Matt Cox and Universe Contest. For a list of musicians who took away awards, see our tweetcap below our photo slideshow and the video produced to pay tribute to Dave Sink.
