Omaha singer-songwriter Tara Vaughan releases her debut full length album Dandelion Wine, written over a period of two years in an attic on Poppleton Avenue and recorded in Nashville with producer Joe Pisapia (k.d. lang, Ben Folds Five, Guster). The album stays true to her trademark honey-thick vocals and rhythmic piano pop style, and soars with complex arrangements and atmospheric guitars. The two time OEAA Songwriter of the Year nominee releases the long-awaited album in Omaha following her appearance at SXSW, and will follow with a national tour. She is joined for the show by her band, featuring local favorites Jessica Errett, Matt McGuigan, Rich Miller and Adam Stoltenberg.
Fellow Omaha artist Kait Berreckman said of the album’s lead single, Honeybee, ‘…hearing her shiny new songs makes me super happy. I love everything about the production and her just-creepy-enough lyrics.’ Vaughan’s mother agreed with this sentiment, but added ‘you’re such a nice girl. Why do you have to say ‘shit’ in the second verse?’
