Satellite Junction has been working on a new rock record, and we’re going to celebrate its release at The Down Under Lounge! SJ will be joined by indie rockers Edison & the Elephant and Time Giants.
No cover, 21+
Satellite Junction is a four piece band made up of guys whose love of music falls somewhere between obsessive and obnoxious. The band formed in early 2015, but, after experimenting with different sounds and a few lineup changes, really found themselves and their sound in the summer of 2016 when Kyle Tanner joined the band and completed the lineup.
It’s very difficult to list influences because these guys like so many bands and styles from classic stuff like Dylan & The Stones to more contemporary bands like The Raconteurs, Pete Yorn, and The Strokes. Seriously, this list could go on for days. It’s exhausting. However, their songs are written with no preconceived direction. Each song idea gets “the Satellite Junction treatment” and is allowed to simply go wherever it wants to go. For that reason, the guys reject all labels & sub-genres and say annoying things like, “It’s just rock & roll, man.”
Originally formed as a 3 piece, Edison & the Elephant was regrouped after some time away as a 5 piece Indie/rock/folk/country band in September of 2015.
A list of influences includes: The Smiths, Television, Jeff Buckley, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Big Star, and any more.
Time Giants will put their rock in your faces, and you’ll like it.
