Sapien Sounds
Sapien Sounds is an indie rock band out of Lincoln Ne, known for their entrancing instrumentals, thought provoking lyrics, and visually stimulating live performance. They are currently hard at work recording their debut album.

The driving force behind the project is guitarist/vocalist Hank Peppe, with much support from long time jam-mate Alex Steinke on the drums. They’ve filled out the lineup with bassist Katja Duerig bringing the thunder and keyboardist Ben Fox as the icing on the musical cake. With backgrounds ranging from self-taught music junkies to classically trained musicians, the band’s diversity shines through in their music. According to one fan, “It’s like Jack White boned MGMT who then gave birth to Hank Williams Jr, and they all formed a family band.”

The name “Sapien Sounds” stems from the desire to bring humans, or homo sapiens, together through music. Peppe’s lyrics address all the little intricacies of being a human, from the challenges and rewards of interacting with each other to the joys and pains of having a brain.

Catch the Sapiens’ unique brand of cerebral rock on their debut album “Mind Games”, to be released in summer 2017.
