with Son, Ambulance and The Luke Polipnick Trio
Max Holmquist (The Great American Desert) and J.J. Idt (Eagle Seagull/Conduits) got together in the fall of 2012 to work on arrangements for Holmquist’s solo project in the spare time between their individual projects’ downtime only to find that the songs were moving in a unique direction. With a full set of songs they entered the studio with Roger Lewis (Neva Dinova/Conduits) and started playing shows under the name Oquoa. Jim Schroeder (UUVVWWZ/Mr. 1986) and Patrick Newbery (Conduits/Cursive/Tim Kasher) joined the band in the spring of 2014.
