Kong Speaks, aka David Huebner is an exciting up and coming producer/DJ from the Midwest. Hailing from a background in language, Kong focuses his finely tuned ear on obsessively creating choice, gnarly bass music. He weaves a kaleidoscope of precise, intricate percussion, mischievously compelling melodies and phat textured bass synths born and meticulously bred from a keen and original mind. His sounds interplay, taking on a creature like life of their own, that deliver shock waves through your system, imprinting you with sound and leaving you vibrating long after the music has stopped. In spring of 2013 David started gaining momentum with his colossal track Co-Passion. Shortly after, his track, “Step Right Up,” was selected as 1 of 3 winners of the Insomniac Discovery Project and he became the first producer/DJ from Iowa to play at Insomniac and Madison House’s Electric Forest Music Festival.
In only a few months the presence of Kong filled the Iowa Bass Music scene with his taste for grinding bass beats and his ability to take his audience through an entire musical experience. He quickly landed shows supporting artists such as Skism, J Rabbit, Big Chocolate and Nostalgia and would soon after share the bill with acts such as Jantsen and Destroid. Kong Speaks’ self title EP was released in August 2013 on High Chai Recordings. It was featured on Beatport and charted into the top 100 Dubstep releases.
Kong’s passion for bass music is contagious and every event he performs at feels bigger with his presence. His production continues to push the limits of creativity leaving you riveted with the anticipation of what he might create and play next.
