We know Sunday is pizza-and-game night and you’re used to spending this time with your family, an hour of Trivial Pursuit and then your mom goes to bed at 8:00 and your dad falls asleep in the recliner watching M*A*S*H. We know you hate M*A*S*H and you’re not sure why, you understand its cultural relevance but it has never clicked with you and it seems like it’s always on, and somehow it’s always that episode where Hawkeye is declared dead due to a clerical error. Like every time it’s that episode, like what? Like is this the Twilight Zone, another show you hate? Like, how is it that you, who have never deliberately watched M*A*S*H in your life, have memorized most of this episode’s lines verbatim and find yourself mouthing them along with the actors? What kind of Lynchian hell are you living in?
We know all that, but Meadowlark Coffee and Espresso has been putting on cool Sunday-night shows since January. At 9 PM the room is converted for listening: the lights are turned down, the grinders are turned off (coffee, tea, and snacks are still served), and seating is arranged near the stage for a night of music.
Sharing the bill with Jack Hotel will be the amazing and cool Miniature Horse, a.k.a. Rachel Tomlinson Dick, who never signed off on this terrible event description.
