Nebraska City, Nebraska hosts night eight of the 2015 Good Living Tour: Friday, July 24, at Memorial Way.
Omaha’s dynamic, piano-driven rock act The So-So Sailors will headline the concert, joined by the dark storytelling folk act Kill County, and high-energy Lincoln pop punk band A Summer Better Than Yours (featuring members from the Nebraska City area).
Nebraska City Tourism & Commerce, Inc. has been a critical partner to project organizer Hear Nebraska, providing vision and leadership to help bring this unprecedented project to Nebraska City. The Good Living Tour is an inaugural concert series hosted in nine communities across Greater Nebraska, July 17-25. It’s also an accompanying community storytelling/marketing project aimed to communicate the benefits of living in Greater Nebraska to a young audience — statewide and around the world — through social and traditional media.
The concert is FREE, FAMILY FRIENDLY, and ALL AGES are encouraged to attend. Doors open at 6 p.m., with music beginning at 8 p.m. Come young. Come old. Celebrate Good Living in Greater Nebraska!

THE SO-SO SAILORS (Omaha)

The So-So Sailors has attracted local attention for its stirring blend of barroom rock and grand orchestration. After a hiatus, The So-So Sailors returned a rousing performance earlier this year for Hear Nebraska’s show with ’90s alt rock icon Matthew Sweet at Omaha’s Holland Center. The Sailors plans to release a new full-length this fall.

KILL COUNTY (Lincoln/Austin, Texas)

Few storytelling folk acts can drown an audience in their characters’ hard luck like Kill County. At its best, it’s less of a performance and of an adept storytelling experience. Kill County’s fourth record, Broken Glass In The Sun, came out earlier this year.

A SUMMER BETTER THAN YOURS (Lincoln)

The Lincoln pop-punk band A Summer Better Than Yours has found a home on the road in recent years. In 2012, the band released its first full-length album, Best of Luck, which found ASBTY touting its catchy pop melodies and doubling down on its live-for-now lyrical themes. The band has spent most of 2015 crafting a whole new setlist of infectious pop-punk.
