Enemy Planes
Comprised of former members of Solid Gold, G.A.Y.N.G.S., and Pictures of Then, the music of Minneapolis based ENEMY PLANES drifts effortlessly between melancholy and menace, hypnotic and hysteric, heartache and euphoria. A stirring blend of haunting vocals, dense instrumentation, and driving beats yield a “tripnotic” sound that is distinctly their own. Conceived in 2012 somewhere between Minneapolis, MN and Lexington, KY, ENEMY PLANES took to the road early on and hasn’t looked back, maintaining an ambitious touring schedule worldwide.
The band spent most of 2013 and 2014 on the road supporting legendary underground act the Meat Puppets, while beginning the process of working closely with producer Duane Lundy to record three full length albums worth of material. In 2015 the band found themselves besting 13,000 other bands worldwide in the Hard Rock Rising Global Band Competition held in Barcelona, Spain. Their grand prize win set in motion a whirlwind of show opportunities allowing the band to share the stage with such acts as Kings of Leon, Lenny Kravitz, Cold War Kids, Matt and Kim and more. Although the band has been sitting on three new albums, they have released a series of music videos including their highly acclaimed video for “We Want Blood”, directed by Tobias Stretch, known for his work on Radiohead’s “Weird Fishes”.
With a handful of successes and a stockpile of new material under their belts, the stage has finally been set for ENEMY PLANES to release their long awaited and much buzzed about debut album, “Beta Lowdown”, available worldwide 03/25/16 on Rock the Cause Records.
Walker Lukens Music
Walker Lukens’ soulful, emotive tenor and alt-pop songwriting have prompted comparisons to everyone from Harry Nilsson to Tom Waits and Pavement. After fronting other bands, the Austin, Texas-based Lukens released Year of the Dog EP and the full length, Devoted, in 2013. They received unanimous praise from outlets like NPR’s All Songs Considered, American Songwriter, Austin American Statesman, Austin Chronicle, Houston Chronicle, and Billboard. A formidable live unit, Walker Lukens and his backing band, The Side Arms, have gained a reputation for their sweaty, stage-shaking shows.
More recently, Lukens and The Side Arms have been working with producer and Spoon drummer, Jim Eno. The single “Every Night” premiered on Spin and was featured on Esquire’s top 40 2015 SXSW playlist. Their full length record, Tell It To The Judge, is due this year.
