DJEM (pronounced gem) is a band of many flavors. Thick percussive grooves combined with genre-bending sound-scapes. Djem defies many of the “standards” set fourth in contemporary music.Featuring an All-Star lineup consisting of members from bands like African Culture Connection, Dr.Webb, Linear Symmetry, Polydypsia, and more. The group thrives on spontaneous improvisation that spawns from pre-existing beats and melodies. Expect all kinds of unexpected instruments, special musical guests, other worldly sounds, and don’t expect the groove to stop.
