What to say about the song I'm covering? That is, without giving it away (or sounding trite). It's a fantastic track that has been a favorite of mine for quite some time. It's been around for years; it was written by a longtime Omaha songwriter, but it's a very early track so I don't think it's all that well known.

It is a very soft and simple tune, a lullaby really. It has that very elusive lyrical quality of being very personal while conveying a universal message at the same time. Words that appear straightforward really possess tremendous emotional depth. There is also a gentle honesty, an innocence, to the song, but there is also a slightest tinge of lament, a sense that things cannot always stay that way. What I love most about the song is that its meaning has evolved for me over the years, and revealed a depth that I have experienced in a very tangible way.

Saturday night should be a lot of fun. I really hope people enjoy my take on this sweet little tune.
