What, you don't hear that ringing?
Maybe it's because Valentine's Day took precedence over Lincoln Exposed. Well, for anyone who missed the second night of the annual festival showcasing Lincoln's finest bands and artists — or for anyone who'd like more — here's a review of who played, how they played and what they said. Also see photos tagged with #LincolnExposed on Twitter further below.
Plan for the remaining two days of the festival with the schedule at the bottom. Door is $7 per day.

Life Is Cool
photos by Kat Buchanan
James Michael Shannon Reilly — main songwriter, guitarist/vocalist — on "In This Tiny Town":
"It's lyrically simple and pretty much all about the beat. I wanted to make a dance song. I think that was the first song I demoed for the record. That was a couple years ago. The lyrics came pretty simply. I have always been bummed out that I don't live in an eastern state where I could take a three-day vacation and go to a bunch of big cities. I love to travel, I love to see things. On that particular day, I was feeling trapped on a particular rectangle of land in Lincoln. … I absolutely love Lincoln and the people in Lincoln, but I like to travel, to be somewhere else."
Bandmate Eric Bemberger on Life is Cool:
"It's all from Jim's brain, and we're here to help him. I see (Life is Cool) as a celebration of someone who, through sheer power of will and imagination, has overcome a lot of challenges in his life: poverty and emotional difficulties, struggles we all deal with. I think Jim has been through quite a lot and has continued to drive through it. The desire to see beauty in life has created this thing, and it's a celebration in the context of destitution. That's the way I see it."
