????? Brent Crampton – Omaha, NE ?????
A DJ since the turn of the century, Brent Crampton is the co-founder of a multicultural dance series known as "loom" and co-owner of the House of Loom nightclub. Based in the middle of America in Omaha, Nebraska, his innate life gift has been recognized through various awards, such as Best DJ in 2006-2008 for the Omaha Entertainment & Arts Awards, 2006 Scion/Imeem Breakthrough Emerging Artist and named one of Omaha's top artists from 2009-2011 by The Reader.
His motto is: Bringing people together—connecting through music—releasing in dance. His other motto is mixing life. "I mix music the same way I mix food, friends and experiences," says Crampton. As such, his sound centers around deep house and the global soul movement, yet defies genres, decades & continents, pulling from a vast pool related to his multicultural experiences and studies of dance music history.
With this musical tapestry in mind, Crampton founded the dance celebration titled, "loom—Weaving the Social Fabric Through Dance" in 2006. loom has established itself as the longest running dance party in Omaha and has hosted international DJs such as Kevin Yost, jojoflores, DJ SPINNA, Rich Medina, Nickodemus, Sabo and Jeremy Sole. Not only did loom create a new dance scene in Omaha, but the momentum of the event and the community loom created in the process forged the path for Brent Crampton and partners to open up a venue called House of Loom in 2011. There at House of Loom, Crampton is the full-time event booker, where he's helped to produce & promote a wide spectrum of talent and ideas.
While Crampton is feverishly dedicated to Omaha, his influence has also extended beyond the midwest. He's DJ'ed in locales such as London, Mexico (La Santanera), NYC (Cielo), Chicago, Miami (South Seas Hotel), Montreal, San Francisco (Deco Lounge), Boston and Hawaii. Since 2005, he's received support from Red Bull and has been a representative for a number of years Red Bull Music Academy. He's volunteered & supported the international organization NextAid, which helps orphaned children in Africa. And he's helped to promote & host the annual Mi Casa Es Su Casa holiday excursion to Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
From the social binding message of loom, the visionary work that's manifested through House of Loom to his artistry through DJing & promoting, Crampton's work touches on social progression, education, art, philanthropy and elevating culture.
