Abstract Artimus
Abstract Artimus is an American music composer and performer from the deep South of the USA currently living in Brooklyn,NY. He was born Artimus Alexander Pace, June 21st, 1983, in Jacksonville, Florida. At the time of his birth, his father was the drummer for the Jimmie Van Zant Band which enabled Artimus to be in close proximity with some of the most prolific southern rock artists of the time. After quitting the band, his father moved the family back to his home town of Mobile, Alabama. Much of Artimus’s early life consisted of going to his father’s rock shows as well as local and national concerts. As Artimus grew into his teens, he formed several locally successful bands and toured nationally and regionally frequently. Over the summer of 2006 he devised what would become the first incarnation of Abstract Artimus. Their first show was as a supporting act for Gwar in his home town of Mobile, AL. In 2015 Artimus signed a record deal with Madrid’s Subterfuge Records and released “The City Arrives” to critical acclaim. He currently resides in Brooklyn, NY and continues to release albums and tour the world with different incarnations of the band.
