What: A diverse panel of people from Lincoln, Nebraska will gather to discuss: How do we create the community we want to live in?
Each panel member will discuss how each of us can support the people in our community who are marginalized and have felt an increase of concern due to the current political climate. What can we do to ease their fears regarding safety and status?
We will be inviting experts in their field to share their experience and educate the community on specific, positive actions we can take to support those in our community most in need of advocacy and allyship. This will be a peaceful, positive atmosphere, where all are welcome. Following the panel, Dr. Patty Hawk, Chair of the Communication Studies Department at Nebraska Wesleyan University, will facilitate a discussion for attendees. Our hope is that people will leave feeling connected, inspired and empowered to take constructive meaningful action toward creating the kind of community we want to live in.
