Native New Yorker, MiWi La Lupa has played with his fair share of greats (Les McCann, David Byrne, Bill Frisell, Femi Kuti, Charlie Hunter, and El-P) and even toured the world as an original member of the band Red Baraat. He wrote and recorded his first album, New Way Home, in 2014 and has since arrived as an emerging solo artist. For his second solo endeavor, MiWi enlisted producer Mike Mogis and Bright Eyes’ frontman Conor Oberst to co-produce the sophomore album in Omaha, where MiWi now makes his home.
MiWi has a lot lined up for 2016: in addition to the new album, Ended Up Making Love, he’s got his mix-tape coming out in the spring, a tour of Europe and the UK, his role in the new Omaha-based Dolores Diaz & The Standby Club, a US tour in the works for summer, and another album soon to follow.
Ended Up Making Love is out on March 25, 2016 on Team Love Records.
