[Editor’s Note: Sonata Sessions are produced independent of HearNebraska.org by Nickolai Hammar, and we’re proud to premiere them. Enjoy.]

Izzy Dominguez sits in a room decorated like a child’s conception of an insane asylum cell.
The idea of a mad man scrawling incoherently on white walls is mashed together from myriad B-movies and television shows. The specific ciphers are a blend of child-like interests (pizza), crudely drawn human figures and quickly recognizable symbols.
Izzy Dominguez isn’t tone deaf, either, in the latest Sonata Session for his song “Baby in a Man.”
He says it right in the chorus: “I’m a baby in a man.” And with a simple chord structure and Izzy’s lilting voice, the song does sound like a kind of warped lullaby.
Izzy Dominguez is relatively new to the Lincoln music scene but if you like what you hear, be on the lookout for a proper release from Fantastic Cassettes in the near future.
