Last night’s evening of free pizza and beer at Urban Outfitters was just as welcoming and upbeat as every First Thursday, this time showcasing two young Omaha bands.
Lot Walks’ youthful and swingy set arrived first. The Omaha quintet travels through soundscapes reminiscent of sunsets on the beach and pleasant summer nights spent with friends. Their debut EP Tourist is available for free on their bandcamp, and they are currently in the recording process for their debut LP.
In quite a powerful contrast, The Decatures took the store floor following Lot Walk, and must have been the loudest an Urban Outfitters set has been. Inside the sheer volume was grit, weight and vintage tones.
