Hear Nebraska is thrilled to welcome Marjorie Maas, Jess Paisley and Stephen Pedersen to its board of directors.
“The Hear Nebraska board is excited for the significant addition of depth and experience these three will bring as we continue to grow our capabilities cultivating the incredible artistic talent in Nebraska,” said board chair Aaron Shaddy.
More about the new blood:
Marjorie Maas, Development Officer at College Possible Omaha.
Maas was previously the director of Nebraskans for the Arts and proprietor of Palette Promotions, her own marketing, public relations and consulting firm that focused on promoting artists and arts organizations.
“There’s a magic that happens with this organization,” Maas said. “The utter enthusiasm and quality brought to the promotion of the art form by Hear Nebraska inspires me.”
Jess Paisley, Audit Manager at Seim Johnson, LLP.
A native of Imperial, Neb., Paisley earned his BSBA with highest distinction and MPA from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
“The mission of Hear Nebraska resonates strongly with me, both as a music lover and supporter of all things local, and I am honored to serve in a governance capacity to further that mission,” Paisley said.
Stephen Pedersen, Vice President & Associate General Counsel at Javlin Capital LLC.
The Omaha lawyer has been playing music for more than 25 years, most notably as the frontman of Criteria and a contributor to Cursive.
“I’m excited about HN’s curatorial direction: Discovering obscure Nebraska artists and albums from yesteryear, digging into that history and bringing it to light for our state and beyond,” Pedersen said.
Maas, Paisley and Pedersen join existing board members Aaron Shaddy, Kendra Ingram, Scott Hatfield, Tim McMahan and Andrew Norman.
