words by Michael Todd
Nebraska record stores house valuable treasures.
Among the music and merch at stores such as Lincoln's Lefty's and Omaha's Drastic Plastic is a gold mine for audiophiles and collectors.
If record-store aesthetic is important to you, there's the signed copy of Nirvana's In Utero at Recycled Sounds in Lincoln. There's the wallpaper and mirror from Bright Eyes' Fevers and Mirrors album cover, transplanted to a wall of the Saddle Creek Shop in Omaha.
Here, past and future vinyl favorites can be harvested like corn from the stalk. Which leads us to the question: Which store offers the best yield?
This is the first of our top five features, which ask you for your favorite people, places and things across the Nebraska music landscape.
Cast your vote for Nebraska's best record store, and tell us why it's great. We'll accept votes through next Tuesday and publish the top five on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 11 a.m.
