Blues music lost one of its greatest interpreters this week. Magic Slim, born Morris Holt in Torrance, Miss., on Aug. 7, 1937, died on Thursday in a Philadelphia hospital at age 75.
Although Magic Slim played the blues rooted in Mississippi and Chicago, Nebraska and The Zoo Bar in Lincoln served as a home since 1994. Holt's son, Shawn, also known as Lil' Slim, will no doubt continue his father's good work through music.
