Your Chance to Die is a melodic death metal band from South Carolina. They have developed an unique sound which blends traditional death metal with beautiful melodic interludes. YCTD sports a group of talented musicians coming from a range of influences from power metal to southern thrash metal. Missi Avila (vocals) leads the band, proving that female death metal vocals can be just as brutal as the opposite gender. Coca Avila and Chase Crouch (guitars) carry the band through ear catching leads and harmonizing riffs. Thomas White brings years of drumming experience to the band and is known as one of the leading metal drummers in the southeast.

In 2011 Your Chance to Die released it’s first official album with Red Cord Records entitled ‘Suscitacio Somnus’, recorded and produced by Jamie King (Between the Buried and Me, The Human Abstract, For Today) This full length album received very strong reviews and topped Itunes and FYE stores as best selling metal album in its first week. Your Chance to Die’s sophmore album, ‘The American Dream’ with Red Cord Records was released June 2013. This heavy yet darkly ambient record brings a new dimension to the band and has been raved over by fans and reviewers all over the world. The first two singles from the album, ‘Conscience’ and ‘Oscuridad’ have taken YouTube by storm; fans are loving this record.

Your Chance to Die has completed three national tours, as well as a successful tour in Central America and three tours in Mexico. In support of the new album YCTD has toured the United States and Mexico and is planning several more ventures in the next few months. YCTD has been featured on several local, national and international radio stations, national magazines and websites. They have had the pleasure to share the stage with a variety of bands such as: Still Remains, Revocation, For Today, Nile, Emmure, and more.

YCTD brings energy and passion to the stage and is gaining world wide momentum as they gain exposure. Curious fans always stay to hear this female fronted death metal band, and always leave impressed and begging for more. As Outburn magazine stated ‘this band is one to look out for, for years to come!’

Here is what reviewers have to say about Your Chance to Die:

‘Their songwriting and musicianship are excellent, and I thoroughly enjoyedThe American Dream.’ Chad Bower About.com Heavy Metal Reviews

,’Guitarists Crouch and Coca Avila shift nimbly from low, bludgeoning riffs to light and triumphant solos. White drives the band with an artillery of muscular beats, never sacrificing agility for blunt force. But Missi Avila remains the band’s centerpiece, her vocals managing clear elocution amid guttural eruptions. ‘ The Free Times

‘What you have here is a band…a band that makes it work. The vocals are straight. When listening, you forget the whole female aspect and just listen to the music for what it is. And what it is, is a brutal assault of melodic death metal.’ Buried Sound

‘This album is filled with rapid drum blasts, nitrous fuelled, atomic powered guitar playing, and a vocal power that leaves you in awe. It was a truly fun listen from beginning to end, no doubt.’ The Metal Resource

‘ All the earmarks of good technical death metal are here. Impressive drumming and virtuoso guitar playing all executed with robot precision from the first song to the last’ SMN News
