HOOTENANNY @ The Waiting Room | Omaha

Our Hootenannies are raising money for local groups involved in food. This month we are offering the proceeds to the Gifford Park Teen Market Garden who have created such a successful gardening and entrepreneurship program that the model is being taken to other groups around the city. There will be delicious food available for sale at this event open to all ages. The music portion of our second monthly Hootenanny features a newly formed group that has been part of Southpaw Bluegrass Band called River City Ramblers. Joining them will be the inimitable Bill Hoover, formerly of The Short Timers and the infamous Dark Town House Band, now a well known visual artist. Another original DTHB member playing solo is Matt Martin, also known as the Community Bike Shop Manager and general bicycling advocate. The Reverend Red Boots, otherwise known as Mark Richardson and sometime member of the Prairie Gators, will start off the evening. More acts will be announced as they are added! The evening will begin at 5:00pm sharp with live music until about 8pm. There will be a DJ playing our old records after that, so dust off your best Hoot worthy vinyl and bring it down to share. Come out for this unique night of community, food, music!
