Structures at Sokol Underground | Photo Essay

photos and words by JP Davis

Canadian hardcore groups Structures and Counterparts visited Omaha last Thursday, performing at Sokol Underground. The bands are touring through the beginning of June with American outfits Betrayal and Villains.

The show brought an eclectic mix of djent, hardcore and metal soundscapes, with local support from Omaha bands Superior and Eastwood. The attendees were not shy to swing their arms and stomp into one another. The emotional tension in the room built throughout the show and crowd surfing, stage-dives, and circle pits eventually abounded.

The room became unified. The crowd’s arms were wrapped around one another as lyrics were shouted in unison.
