The Broke Loose / Nato Coles & the Blue Diamond Band / Anthems / Brian Hoffmann at the Sydney

Black Heart Booking presents….

The Broke Loose
Hailing from Omaha, Nebraska, The Broke Loose is a four-piece original rock band that mixes equal parts Americana, power pop and punk, drawing on a decades-spanning array of influences and connecting the dots with a cohesive, melodic growl that is as difficult to classify as it is easy to fall for.

The band – all Omaha and Lincoln music-scene veterans – delivers a diverse set of songs that are low on production gloss and high on memorable hooks and heartbeat. Its high-energy live show conjures a bewitching brew of roots rock and alt-country charged up with classic pop, rock and punk…. think The Replacements and Teenage Fanclub meet Social Distortion in a rumble refereed by a young Springsteen, and you start to get the idea.

Nato Coles & the Blue Diamond Band
Nato Coles and the Blue Diamond Band started out in the spring of 2010, after Nato moved to the Twin Cities from Brooklyn. After a couple lineup experiments, the band settled down as Mike Cranberry on drums, Sam Beer on lead guitar, Kyle Sando on bass, and Nato. Get the new album Promises To Deliver! And maybe some of the 7″s, too… and there is MUCH more to come.

As their name suggests, the Omaha band’s songs seem most suited for a roomful of people who, if not singing along, at least would like to learn the words so next time they won’t miss shouting the chorus, drinks held aloft. In the tradition of Bruce Springsteen through Rise Against, Against Me and Gaslight Anthem, that room could equally be a dingy corner bar or a packed arena. It’s music that fills the space, any space, but is lofty enough not to bear down on an audience.
