Big Joe Turner would have been proud. With his signature song in tow, a jug band with a name just as long as its lineup of instruments brought some stompin' and hollerin' to the Parrish Building on Friday.
Lincoln's First Friday events for June were unusually musical, it seemed, with performances from the Root Marm Chicken Farm International Jug Band, Hana Kornbluh, The Golden Hour as well as DJ sets from Ol' Moanin' Corpse and DJ Simplify, to name a few. At least in the Parrish, the sounds led patrons from room to room as they also viewed pieces by Dakk Thompson, Holly Kranker, Joel Damon, Mike Bauer, Brooke Kuykendall and HN contributor Shannon Claire, among others.
