Cold air bites the skin, freshly-fallen snow torrents up from the side of the board, casual conversations can be overheard in German and there isn’t a half-pipe or rail in sight. Pro snowboarder TJ Schneider believes this represents the purest form of his sport. His video blog, Snowboard Realms, aims to portray snowboarding honestly, without all the flash and celebrity status some have come to expect from professional athletes. In the latest episode, Schneider visits the Stuben Long Board Classic in Stuben, Austria, at one of the biggest freeriding races in the world. Omaha’s own Icky Blossoms provide the perfect musical backdrop to this scene, with their track, “Perfect Vision,” as Schneider heckles freestylers and talks about how fun it is to go back to the basics of snowboarding with old-school long boards. The smooth beat running throughout the song combined with the simple but rad synth parts do well to capture Schneider's laid-back view on his job.
"You know what? Fuck it, it's snowboarding. This shit's fun," he says.
