DIY Merch: Screen Printing — Omaha & Lincoln

Learn the basics of screen printing in this hands on workshop that will teach you how to transfer your artwork from a sketch pad or computer graphic and print it onto a t-shirt, koozie, tote bag or record jacket. These workshops are presented in partnership with the Union for Contemporary Art in Omaha and Screen Ink in Lincoln.

LIVE SOUND 101 — Lincoln

Professional sound reinforcement engineers will teach basic, valuable live sound skills in a hands-on scenario. Participants will learn how to operate a large-scale sound system typically seen in venues as well as how to effectively and thoroughly make a small, consumer-grade PA system sound good in various situations. Attendees will also learn how to properly work with a sound engineer in a live performance setting to get the most out of their sound check and, ultimately, their performance.

AUDIO MIXING 101 — Omaha

In this workshop coordinated in partnership with Hear Nebraska, UNO Music Technology students, under the direction Brett Leonard, Director of Music Technology at UNO, will teach basic music production and mixing skills using the open source recording and mixing software Audacity. Participants will work with existing audio recordings to learn the basic techniques and tools of audio mixing, including: dynamics processing, reverb, delay, and EQ. Skills and knowledge learned from this workshop will be universally applicable across audio platforms, including: Reaper, Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Garageband, Sonar, FL Studio, Cubase, Ableton, and more.
