Simon Joyner, Isa Moskowitz and HN | Event Announcement

[Editor's Note: THIS EVENT IS NOW SOLD-OUT. Thanks to everyone who purchased or attempted to purchase tickets. Be on the lookout for our next "Evenings" show.]

I wish I could announce something this cool every day: On Sunday, March 25, we're hosting an intimate dinner/performance/fundraiser at DP Muller Photography Studio, 6066 Maple St., in Benson, featuring two of Omaha's cultural gems. At 7 p.m., Isa Moskowitz will cater a dinner, followed by an acoustic performance by Simon Joyner and friends.

Moskowitz is an Omaha transplant from Brooklyn known for hosting the cult-loved community access cooking show "Post Punk Kitchen." A vegan chef, Moskowitz has authored several best-selling cookbooks, including Vegan with a Vengeance. Her most-recent book is called Vegan Pie in the Sky. You can join more than 17,000 others who follow her on Twitter

Joyner might as well be a Nebraska music landmark. The singer-songwriter from Omaha has produced a dozen full-length albums over two decades, and was listed by Beck as having created one of his top-10 albums. But he's always avoided the national spotlight, instead opting to do music for music's sake. He's currently producing his 20th anniversary project, a sprawling, double album due out this spring. (Joyner doesn't use Twitter.)

There are only 20 seats available for this event. And we're not shooting video or capturing audio. So if you're not there, you missed it.

We're very excited for this event, which we hope to make a regular fundraiser for this registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Thanks very much to to Daniel and Lauren Muller, Isa Moskowitz and Simon Joyner for making this possible.
