Jessica and Heather Hottman are sisters that started playing music together at a young age. From singing the National Anthem at the College World Series, to composing music for local production companies, to singing for television commercials, their careers have varied across the musical spectrum. In the Spring of 2010, they began playing shows as a band with other local musicians in their hometown of Omaha, Nebraska. While attending college, they continued playing in the metro area, as well as in surrounding cities like Lincoln and York, Nebraska.
At the start of 2015, they decided to start fresh as their own musical duo known as The Hottman Sisters, hence their last name “Hottman.” Jessica began writing all new material and collaborating with her sister Heather, while the duo started performing their new material at various open mic nights and shows. In the Spring of 2015 they began collaborating with musicians and sound engineers to create a seven song album. The sisters also made an addition with their young and fierce drummer John Evans, who joined The Hottman Sisters project in November of 2015. Since then, the sisters and John have been steadily booked with multiple shows per week in both Omaha and Lincoln, NE. They have played venues such as The Waiting Room Lounge, The Slowdown, Reverb Lounge, Pageturner’s Lounge, The Sydney, The Pizza Shoppe, Burke’s Pub, the SP CE Commons, and much more. Highlights have included playing the BFF Femme Fest 2015, the Gifford Park Farmer’s Market 33rd Friday Celebration, recording a Sonata Sessions with Hear Nebraska, and playing a secret set at a Sofar Sounds: Omaha show.
Their shows are characterized by spunky and rhythmic drums, edgy, electric guitar tones, and full throttled vocal harmonies. The sisters have also had the opportunity to sing the National Anthem, showing a much different side to their musical abilities. They have brought out this acapella, three-part harmony, with their third and youngest sister Tiffany Hottman at venues like: The Ralston Arena (Lancer’s Hockey), The Baxter Arena (University of Nebraska at Omaha Women’s Basketball), and the Caniglia Athletic Field (University of Nebraska at Omaha Men’s Soccer).
In the Fall of 2015, The Hottman Sisters were nominated as Best New Music of 2015 and they were also featured in the Omaha World-Herald as “Band of the Week” in January of 2016. This band was also on the Hear Nebraska featured scene list of bands to watch for in the 2016 year.

“I love The Hottman Sisters. They are unapologetic badasses and the sooner everyone knows that, the better. Their songwriting is clean and well-crafted and their performances are magnetic.” ~Kait Berreckman Band

The group is just a few months out from putting out their first record and is planning to do lots of touring in the 2016 year.
