Lisa Weyerhauser at The Chocolate Bar (Grand Island)

THE CHOCOLATE BAR is hosting Lisa on Tuesday, July 7th, 7-9 p.m. for a night of music and worship. Be sure to come by and be prepared to be inspired.

Here’s a short bio on Lisa.
“It was my freshman year when ‘The Grandfather of Christian Rock’, Larry Norman, came to perform at my school. It was a life changing night for me. His concert was filled with words of simplicity and intensity. Armed with his folk guitar and wearing his signature black leather jacket, he sang a sweet song of salvation that challenged and inspired the listeners. I was scheduled to interview him for my school paper after the concert, and ended up with not only an interview but with a friend and mentor who continued to encourage my musical journey long after the evening ended.
In the month that followed, I wrote almost 50 songs and the music kept coming. Larry came alongside of me and pushed my creative edges and suggested working together on a record. I had the honor of opening for him and singing backup in many of his concerts. About five years after first hearing him in concert my freshman year of college, he produced a record of mine entitled, “Caught in Time.” Larry’s mentoring and friendship continued to influence my music as the years flew by. Even now that he has left this world behind, his mark on Christian music continues to make a significant impact.

Over the years, I have enjoyed playing music alongside some amazing artists and musicians. It has been quite a ride, with ups and downs and everything in between. I have been blessed with a good man and three boys who keep me on my toes and who I love with all my heart. These days I continue to play music, write and teach in the Psychology department at Trinity International University.”
