** MORE ABOUT THE BANDS **

Kris Lager Band (Lincoln)
http://www.krislagerband.com/

Kris Lager Band has practically lived on the road the last two years. They haven’t seemed to sweat it a bit, prizing human connection night-to-night over a homebase. The band dabbles in rock, soul, blues, zydeco, reggae, funk and more, and its latest album Heavy Soul & Boogie Trance, is its most ambitiously produced to date.

All Young Girls Are Machine Guns (Omaha)

All Young Girls Are Machine Guns is sometimes a single singer-songwriter on her ukulele, and sometimes a six piece doo-wop and soul band from Omaha. Formed in 2009, AYGAMG has taken the last five years to develop its sound from a mish-mash of pop, jazz, country and blues. The band’s most recent split 7-inch is a pair of lounging and snaking songs that finds frontwoman Becky Lowry stretching out into smoothly soulful vocals.

Oketo (Lincoln)
https://www.facebook.com/oketomusic

The young Lincoln band is rising fast in Nebraska circles with a sound that mixes the scapes of pop-rock and jazz roots. Horns and guitars abound in songs full of melodic movements and the lifeforce of five talented players experimenting with both classical and indie sounds. Hear Nebraska’s writing staff called Oketo’s “Like A Child” one of its favorite new songs of 2014.
